Shuo Vincent Yang - will be a Junior attending the
Thornton School of Music at the University of Southern California.
Vincent has previously won Musical Merit Foundation scholarships
in 2009 and 2010. In 2009, Vincent made his orchestral debut
with the Torrance Symphony performing Grieg’s A minor Piano
Concerto. He has won prizes at the Los Angeles Liszt International
Piano Competition; the 5th prize in 2008 in Division III and
1st in 2010 in Division IV.
Vincent is also a YMF Lieber-Stoller scholar and Leni Fe Bland
scholar. In 2009 Vincent attended the Vianno Do Costello Music
Festival in Portugal under a full scholarship. He is currently
studying with Dr. Stewart Gordon at USC, and his previous teachers
include Kevin Fitz-Gerald, Tomasz Aleksander and Evangeline
Hung. In his free time, Vincent enjoys watching and playing
a variety of sports.
